Have you ever in your life been thrown out of a class or an interview or an office for not being groomed at your best? Well I have been. In today’s world perfectly groomed candidates are required; it doesn't really matters which industry they belong to. Grooming includes of many factors but the key ingredient to a perfectly groomed person is being well shaved. I may sound funny or ridiculous but it’s the truth. A small thing like shaving can make your day or can make it look a lot worse then you could have ever imagined. And I am telling this because I have personally witnessed this in my life and I have taken a great lesson from that too.
This is what happened. I left preparing for my medical entrance examinations as soon as I passed out my twelfth standard and the reason behind not going for medicals was that I didn't want to spend half of life studying. That is an entire different story so let’s concentrate to this story. And I was in search of a new career option. One of my relative suggested me to go for hospitality management and God knows I took that suggestion too seriously. Thus I decided to go for an Interview for the Hospitality management course and ended up on the gate of International Institute of Hotel Management, Kolkata.Being from science background I had no idea what I was going to face and how I was going to do it. So I left everything in the hand of Guru Mahadev. After qualifying for the group discussion and written test round anyhow there I was in the last round the Personal Interview round. This round was supposed to be conducted by Director of the college itself. Frankly speaking I wasn't scared or nervous at all. And the reason behind not being nervous was that it was my first interview and I was clueless what was happening inside that cabin. I was dressed up in a cargo and a tee with my sports shoes on and I had not shaved and had huge curls on my chick.
After a long wait of half an hour finally it was my turn to face the PI. I knocked the door and asked that should I come in? And a lady replied yes please come in. I got into the cabin finally and that was the instance I started feeling nervous. The very first question asked to me was that whether I was there for an interview? The question puzzled me and I was in a state of dilemma that wasn't she sure that I was going to be interviewed by her. I replied yes mam. She told me that I wasn't groomed at all. Well that I wasn't for sure. I sensed the situation was getting worse so said a silent prayer and started to think of something to handle the situation. So I instantly apologized for not being in perfect attire and for not shaving. She told me that she was going to qualify me for the round just because of my etiquettes and good manner. Well the day was saved finally and I realized that shaving could have saved my day a lot easier. Later the director called me and said, "son it doesn't matter where ever you go never leave your house without shaving". And I took her words seriously. It has been around 5 years in the hospitality industry and there has not been a day that I haven't shave except for my off days. And for guys who have sensitive skin please go for Gillette Razor, its very skin friendly and leaves your skin soft and moisturised. Shave and be Groomed always.
